This post was delayed by i think you could say is my laziness. Well yesterday (new year's eve) went out for countdown so to speak for the new year 2007! Yeeepeee! Was hesitating in the afternoon whether to go because it was rather disorganized-people not confirming if they can make it-not replying to messages. Yup but went in the end and headed to the esplanade-on the bridge.
Rather crowded there but it wasn't as bad that i expected thinking that it was new year's countdown. Thinking that we probabaly might not be able to get 'good' place to see the fireworks later we walk and walk. Met up with the rest of the group having gotten lost half way. Met up and it started to rain! Weee! Couldn't say we didn't see it coming but didn't really expected it to happen. Well first reaction is to head in for shelter, so we did. Walk walk walk.....reach someplace nearby suppose to be a shelter for all but it was already packed (can imagine how smaal the place is). Standing near that area is as good as standing at any open area. So we decided to just head back to the bridge and just stand in th rain...hehe. The feeling was kind of nice but when you want to start using your phone to msg, the trouble comes in. Was msging and drops of water start falling on the screen then the keypad. Haha why am i saying this now....weird me...ok then as i was saying, there should be 4 fireworks going off that night: 10, 11, 1130 and 12mn. We arrived at 10+ so sadly had to miss the first one. We were just hanging around the till 11 with high expectations having missed the one already. Ya you know what, ya is merely shot a 20 second of fireworks which we thought it was a mistaken but we were sure it wasn't because at 11.30 the same thing happened. Feeling rather disappointed already but we waited on having friends to talk to, time passed quickly.
Finally the spotlight shone on the waters and the host started to speak we knew it was going to start. Seriously, i couldn't use words to present what i saw that night because it was really fantastic. You really had to be there and watched it with your eyes (not your video cams). It was even better than the national day one. Well and thats also what i mean by which they didn;t countdown-having the fireworks at 12.01.
After the fireworks, most of us were already planning to eat. Lao pa sa was just round the corner, obviously we headed there. To think that so many people came for the fireworks, i thought that la pa sa would be packed too thinking that most singaporeans would go for supper after that. It wasn't that crowded thinking that 12 people could find seats in 5mins time. Didn't know what to eat at that time but seeing people eating wanton noodles ate that too. Wanted to take a photo of the food but i guess i was to hungry and forgotten. But i managed to take a picture of the dessert.
Nice right, hehe. We were planning to take the train if it was still available at that hour but by the time we finished, we saw the sign saying 5mins so ran into the station but the entrance was closed (for some reason we don't know). Headed out of the station and decided to take a cab instead. Took group pictures before leaving as always.
After that we went on to the streets flagging desperately for cabs. After sometime and partly seeing the people waiting fo cab too, we decided to go in search for NR6 home. Walk and walk on the streets looking at the bus-stops. Was feeling hopeless so took some "street photos".

Well we walked and walked and walked until it was 2.30am in the morning when we finally found the NR6 bus stop but the people waiting there was ridiculously many. We went to get drinks hoping that the people there would be any better (in terms of size). Finally after some time, about3am we decided to take a free shuttle out of that area then take a cab from somewhere else. Aljunied was the place because it was rather near to hougang and we would probably reach home faster than waiting for the shuttle that goes to hougang. Yes we got a cab at about 3.30am and was on the way home. Reached home at about 4am in the morning, taking the morning newspaper in on my way to the front doors.The next morning i was meeting my cousin for lan marathon at 12noon, sleeping at 4.3oam in the morning, you can feel how bad was it. Was already half awake while playing but still manage to get through. Was enjoyable after all but i am still T-I-R-E-D. Finished death note today too for tomorrow am catching the second part, so looking forward to tomorrow and i will dress nice. Yup so i should end off here because for tomorrow's movies and meeting at 11am seems rather impossible now but i will be there on time, now 4am again and a very good morning to all out there.....
